February 23, 2009 - Marquis Yachts, builders of premium quality yachts 42' - 72' in length kicked off the 2009 Miami International Boat Show in grand style during an exclusive, invitation only gala on the eve prior to the show's opening. The Marquis Yachts gathering is a highly anticipated annual event where Marquis yacht owners, yachting enthusiasts and industry luminaries from around the world gather to see Marquis' newest products and socialize with others who share their passion for yachts.
This year's affair took place at the Marquis Yachts in-water exhibit strategically situated on the Intracoastal Waterway in the epicenter of fashionable Miami Beach, Florida, USA. The exhibit showcased six of the company's yachts including two new vessels, a 72' Marquis Motor Yacht featuring an interior custom designed by Valentina Zannier, a partner and lead designer with the Italian firm of Nuvolari-Lenard Naval Design and a new 50' triple engine performance yacht - the Marquis 500 Sport Bridge, also designed by the Nuvolari-Lenard design firm.

More than 300 invited guests were greeted by Irwin L. Jacobs, Chairman of Genmar Holdings, LLC and Robert Van Grunsven, President of Marquis Yachts. People were treated to live jazz played by the band Sound of Vision, Henri Giraud French champagne and hors-d'oeuvres and dinner prepared by A Joy Wallace, Miami Beach's renowned catering production and design firm.

On hand during the event was Carlo Nuvolari, principal of Nuvolari-Lenard Naval Design of Venice, Italy. All of the Marquis yachts on display were designed by the Nuvolari - Lenard studio. Carlo hosted personal tours of the new 720 Marquis and Marquis 500 Sport Bridge and shared his thoughts and experiences in high-end yacht design.
Also in attendance was executive chef and world renowned wine expert Michel Atlas. During the festivities Mr. Atlas shared his knowledge about French cuisine and wines and introduced guests to Henri Giraud French champagne which was served throughout the evening.
Once again the Marquis Yachts exhibit was the place to be on the eve of the 2009 Miami International Boat Show.
